This is work I have made during my first month at MICA. I’m still getting used to the gallery’s lights. Please excuse the poor quality of these images.

I made this short movie for my Type in Motion class. Its not great, but I’m feeling very optimistic about my Adobe After Effects abilities.

Hiatus
I am currently on hiatus from sculpture as I try to conquer the mondo mess in my studio. I have been doing a little bit of painting, however. Please excuse the quality of these images.

Getting Ready For Baltimore
After a very long, stressful, and confusing ordeal I have made up my mind and I am going to attend the Mount Royal MFA program at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). I was also accepted to Concordia in Montreal, and they even offered me a free ride. While it was a very tempting offer, I decided to go with my gut and accept the offer made to me by MICA. After a generous scholarship it will cost me $25,500 a year. Anybody who would like to contribute to the “Help Jon Stay Alive Fund” can send cash donations to 11 Melbourne Ave SE, Minneapolis MN 55414
Or Text “HelpDuff” to (262)352-6872
Thank you

1 down, 5 to go
This sucks because I really wanted to join Skull and Bones.
Dear Mr. Duff:
Our faculty committee on admissions in Sculpture has reviewed your work and records, and I am sorry to inform you that we will not be able to admit you in September.
The number of places we have available is very small in proportion to the number of applications we receive. This is a matter of regret to us since there are many talented and able people among those whose applications we must decline.
We remain most grateful to you for your interest and for the information and work you provided for our consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Patricia Ann DeChiara

A New Sculpture
Out of my period of experimentation comes a new sculpture. Since so much of my sculpture has to do with my memories, I figured it was due time to make a sculpture depicting memory itself.
8′ long, wood, latex paint, oil based enamel paint, polyurethane foam.

I am surprised. I wasn’t sure I could make anything this strange anymore.
